Poster                                             Album Cover

The poster and the album cover both work well because they have a clear link with eachother and are similar. I really like the colour scheme and the black and white people on the bright yellow, orange and red background. The graffiti image on the brick wall is a really good idea because, in a way, it links with the name of the album "21st Century Breakdown", because it is quite common to see graffiti and the type of font in graffiti on walls. So this, and the teenagers kissing, relates to the target audience - young male and female teenagers.

The cartoon doodles and the pastel colour scheme is really effective and draws your attention to it straight away. I really like it and I could use doodles and hand-drawn things in my work. Or I could experiment with digitally illustrating it.

I really like this Stereophonics album cover because it is simple but effective. I really like the bright colours, the composition and the text.

Another possible song choice.

This is another possible song option. I also really like the idea of the video game but it would be impossible for me to recreate it!

This is a possible song choice. I also like the bright colours used in the video.

I really like the idea of walking round a city with lots of different shots and angles of the face. This kind of thing could be done in Manchester. I would choose a more upbeat song and change the location more often.

Album Back Covers - The Color and the Shape, Foo Fighters

Following the theme of the front cover of this album, they have used the balls and lines down the left hand side of the cover. The song list is aligned slightly diagonally. This works well as it follows the basic shape of the balls and lines. I really like the blue, red and white colour scheme as it is simple but bold and effective and makes the image and writing stand out. All the letters on this cover are in capitals to make it easier to read.

This e.p. of Life's Becoming a Landslide by Manic Street Preachers has inspired me to experiment with a fish eye effect with the camera. In addition, I really like the effect of the simple white background and the simplistic bold and regular text.

This album cover for Foo Fighter's Wasting Light is interesting to me because of the composition, colours and effects. They have used the combination of a simple, black background and the composition of the coloured faces. Also, it looks complex when you first look at it, but then when you look closer, it's quite a clever, simple idea.

I really like everything about this video because it is humorous due to the multiple characters the band members dress up as and the storyline. In addition, the storyline relates very well to the lyrics "learn to fly" as, in the story, he learns to fly the plane because the pilot has passed out.
It would be very difficult to find a plane to film on, but I could use a humorous storyline and dress the band members up as different characters.

This is my A2 Media blog, for my coursework I am thinking about doing an Indie or a rock music video because this is the type of music I enjoy listening to the most.
